Early Mother's Day Celebrations

At school this week, Max and Molli's classes had special Mother's Day celebrations!  It was so nice to be able to attend, by myself, and be one-on-one with each of the big kids.

Molli's Mother's Day Tea was on Wednesday.  Molli and her classmates walked into the classroom wearing the gift they made for their moms!  TOO CUTE!!!!  They sang 3 lovely songs, of course all about mommies!  Molli was the loudest singer!!  After the serenade, we had tea, strawberries, and muffins!  Molli poured my tea and served me the muffins that the kids had made a couple of days before at school.

Max's Mother's Day celebration was today.  He sang a couple of songs and then he gave me my gift and we enjoyed cookies and juice!  He was really excited about the party all week.  Max was a really good secret keeper because I had no idea what his songs were or his present.  Both kids did an excellent job keeping things a secret!

Game Time

Max is playing his very first team sport this Spring - T-Ball!  And today was his first game!  Max plays on the Brewers and Dad helps coach.  He was very excited for this day, mostly to finally get to wear his jersey.  In Max's opening game, he played 3rd base and shortstop when his team was out in the field.  He's still trying to get comfortable at the tee - took him a couple of swings each time to make contact with the ball.  Right now, it looks like we have a 'lefty' at the plate.  He had quite the crowd cheering for him - Mom, Molli, baby sis, Batta and Grandma Moe, cousin Danny, Aunt Dawn and cousins Sam, and Ben, Nanie, Izzi, and Livvi.  What a fabulous way to begin the baseball season!!

Easter Cookie Fun

Molls and I made some sugar cookie dough while Max was at school earlier this week.

You can't leave Milers out:)

That night, we rolled out the dough and made some Easter/Spring cutouts and baked them.

Again, Miley wants to help.  This time, she thinks we need more sugar!

The next day, Nanie, her crew, and Grammie came over (with all the goodies that go on top) and we decorated sugar cookies all.day.long!

WOW!!!!  What a successful (and these are only half of the cookies) decorating day!  This may have to become an Easter tradition:)

Suzy Homemaker?!?!

Well, I had my first ever sewing experience (as an adult, with a machine) a week ago!  I LOVED IT!!!  Our twin nieces turned 3 at the beginning of the month and I decided to make them some aprons for their 'dress-up' box.  My mom was a HUGE help.  She's the one who gave me the idea to make them.  She's only made like 20 in the past month!  The hardest part of the whole thing: picking out the fabric!  It's so overwhelming at the fabric store, but I'm pretty sure I came out with the perfect choices for the project!

I'm addicted, and so VERY proud of myself!!!!  All I need now is TIME.  I don't own a sewing machine, so I have to go over to my mom's to continue doing projects.  That's o.k. though, I still need her just a few feet away from me when I'm at the machine! 

Right now, my mom is making dresses for the girls.  Maybe some day soon, I'll graduate to dresses.  Right now, I'll stick with aprons!
